“The first project was in 1996, when Woolard Construction submitted a proposal for finishing off the basement level of our house which overlooks the back yard and pool. Woolard was one of five bidders. After doing our due diligence meetings with each bidder and viewing each bidder’s work at a completed project, it was clear that Woolard Construction was going to be our general contractor, because of the amazing quality of their work to which the others could not hold a candle.

Once work began, my husband and I left for a six-week road trip, letting the architect oversee the project working with Loris and Wes Woolard. We received only one telephone call regarding a minor glitch caused by a subcontractor. It was resolved over the telephone with no additional cost to us.

The project was completed in a timely manner and we were so pleased that we held a reception for Loris and Wes and invited all their subcontractors and spouses to see the final product. The subcontractors they use are above par - “artists” would describe them best. We were hooked on Woolard Construction.

In 2003 we redid the backyard decking and gazebo. Again, we selected Woolard Construction for that project and were very pleased with the outcome.”

“In 2001, we purchased 3,300 square feet of space at the Healey Building, (built circa 1913) and hired the same architectural firm and asked them to design a penthouse for us. We did not bid out the contract to any other builders, only Woolard Construction. Since we had done two previous projects with them we wanted only their high quality of work. Firstly, The Woolards have integrity. Secondly, Wes or Loris is on site everyday, talking with the superintendent, making sure all is moving according to plan. Thirdly, when the project is over, it is a turnkey operation. There may be small punch list items but the place is ready for immediate occupancy. There is no waiting for anyone to clean or show anything. The project is completed to perfection. The punch lists are handled quickly with no lingering to finish that last little item that typically seems never to get done with most contractors. Again, we were so pleased we held a reception for Loris and Wes and invited all their subcontractors and spouses to view the final product.

The year 2009 brought a disaster when our penthouse was flooded due to a unique circumstance not related to Woolard or our unit. We had to move out 13 months while Woolard gutted and rebuilt a third of the penthouse. Woolard had only to pull out the original specifications, hire the subcontractors and rebuild. It was perfectly like the original. The Woolards can perform building miracles.”
